The 45th annual Tuscola County Pumpkin Festival begins with Tailgate at the Square & Singo from 5 to 8 p.m. The festival continues through Sunday, Oct. 4.

Decorated pumpkin drop-off runs 8 a.m.-6 p.m. at the courthouse lawn; Grand Pumpkin registration is 4-6 p.m.; the Rotary Club pancake supper and Color Run begin at 5 p.m.; Prince and Princess crowning and the Grand Pumpkin announcement begin at 7 p.m.

Friday includes decorated pumpkin judging, the Autumn Afternoon Senior Ball, scavenger hunt, Caro Roadhouse Museum, Music in the Patch with Bob Hughes, pie-eating contest, Kids Glo Party, euchre tournament, Brentwood's 45th birthday with Dave Lagness and a free showing of The Nightmare Before Christmas at Caro Rental.
